The company was established to develop a small protein (LD22-4) for use as a therapeutic in the treatment of ocular diseases and hard to treat cancers. Presently, the primary focus of LD22-4 development is for the treatment of patients who suffer from the wet form of age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and who face the hardships of vision loss or blindness.
The use of LD22-4 for the treatment of malignant glioma is also being investigated. Motility Inc. has also established a pilot program to examine the effect of LD22-4 on malignant gliomas, the most common subtype of primary malignant brain tumors.
2009 — Motility Incorporated awarded a Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) Grant from the National Eye Institute to test the effect of LD22-4 on proliferative vitreoretinopathy.
2008 — Motility Incorporated awarded a Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) Grant from the National Cancer Institute to test the effect of LD22-4 on malignant glioma.
